Yours truly

Though it would be worthwhile letting you know who I am in the early stages of us getting to know each other.

In the growing tradition of this blog, this shall be done pictorially.

So, without further ado, here I am ...

I'm in this lot somwhere, can you spot me? It's kind of like a Where's Wally Blog Entry, although you don't even know what the needle looks like that you're looking for do you?

I didn't take this one ... would have been one hell of a self portrait if I had wouldn't it? But it's still worthy of entry on these hallowed pages.

The Hound

Another regular feature in front of my camera is the hound, not the easiest subject to photograph because he's so short, you have to get right down on the ground to capture a shot and, since sitting and staying aren;t his strong points he takes it as a cue to run forwards thinking it's a game. This is where stealth and a telephoto lens come in handy. Otherwise all you end up with is either a brown blur or a close up of his nose as he advances.

This one was taken many years ago (back in the dauy when film photography was the norm, not this digital thing we all us enow) when he was still physically a puppy. He's aged now in all aspects, except mentally.

CC Coletti

Today's visual treat is the lovely CC Coletti, backing singer for Meat Loaf (you may notice a running theme in many of the pictures that feature on this blog, over the years I've been lucky enough to attend many of Meat's UK shows and a few in Europe/USA/Canada too and there's more often than not been a camera close by!).

Again this image was taken at a show in 2004 on Meat's 2003/2004 Couldn't Have Said It Better, Last Ever World Tour (since then he's toured a further 5 times!). That's him in the background by the way, in case you didn't have a clue who I was talking about.

This photo was taken during the song Testify. Which is awesome live and sadly been missing from the set list since this tour. Bring it back!!!

A new day dawns

A first blog post should be a momentous occasion.. How momentous is it really though? When a tree falls in an empty forest, does it make a sound? When someone first ventures out into cyber space with their first blog, does anyone read it except the search spiders that are constantly crawling the servers? Only time will tell if anyone reads this, and if they do if they think enough of it to come back and read it again.

Unlike most of the blogs I've stumbled upon this afternoon this blog won't contain stories of my new born child (I don't have one before you ask!) what it will contain is ... random thoughts, spontaneous outbursts (yeah ok, rants) and some photos. That's what you'll find here!

This, in my opinion is one of the best photos I've ever taken! Snapped at a Meat Loaf conncert in 2004 at Sheffield Hallam FM Arena, it's a great study of Paul Crook in action. I know (modestly) that it's good, Paul loved the photo enough to display it on his own website!
